Turkmenistan and the European Union (EU) have signed a Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, during the ceremony, Turkmenistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov met with the Permanent Representative of Belgium to the EU Willem van de Voorde and was also joined by the Managing Director for Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and the OSCE at the European External Action Service Michael Zibert.
Later in the day, Meredov held a meeting with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia, Terhi Hakala. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and humanitarian spheres.
From March 17th to 19th, 2024, a Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov is on a working visit to Belgium.
On March 18th, 2024, as part of the Turkmen delegation's visit to Brussels, a series of meetings took place with senior representatives of the European Union, including the Chief Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the European Council, Simon Mordue.
