Turkmenistan's delegation and representatives of the Afghan energy company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) held a meeting to discuss the completion and commissioning of the Noor-ul-Jihad substation in Herat, reported DABS's press office on Monday.

During the meeting, DABS's Chief Operations Officer, Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Rahmani, presented the latest construction updates on the substation, confirming that the final works are nearing completion, according to the company's statement.

As reported, the substation will be launched once all remaining technical issues between the parties are resolved.

Myrat Artykov, the Head of the Department of International Power Projects for Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan direction at the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, noted that the parties will finalize the protocol related to equipment and technical matters in the near future.

The substation is expected to significantly increase the import of electricity from Turkmenistan to Herat.

Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), Afghanistan's energy company, officially commenced the construction of the Noor-ul-Jihad substation in the Herat province in September 2023. The project aims to enhance the power transmission capacity from Turkmenistan.
