Representatives from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Customs and Trade of Türkiye held online meeting to discuss the draft Protocol on the Establishment of a Joint Customs Committee.
As reported by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan on Tuesday, the parties also exchanged views on the draft Agreement on the Simplified Customs Corridor (SCC).
According to the announcement, the goal of the SCC project is to facilitate the exchange of preliminary information about goods being transported between the customs services of Turkmenistan and Türkiye.
The establishment of the Joint Customs Committee aims to enhance and organize effective customs cooperation within the framework of implementing bilateral agreements on customs affairs between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye.
In turn, the Turkmen side noted that the Republic of Türkiye is one of Turkmenistan's main importing countries, and the overall trade turnover between the two countries is constantly growing.
