The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan signed an agreement on Tuesday in Istanbul for the transportation of Turkmen natural gas to Türkiye through Azerbaijan and Georgia, reports Bloomberg HT.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, together with Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, participated in the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement on natural gas between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in Istanbul.
During the negotiations, Bayraktar recalled that the two countries had developed the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project.
Earlier, the leadership of the Turkish state company BOTAŞ expressed readiness to support the export of Turkmen gas to the Turkish market.
