Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan Discuss Cooperation in Gas Sector

Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, in Ashgabat on Friday, and during which discussed the cooperation matters in the gas sector, reports the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

According to the statement, the parties also discussed aspects of implementing joint Kazakh-Turkmen projects in the agricultural sector.

During the conversation, it was noted that the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 28 percent over the year and amounted to $563 million.

As of the end of the first three months of this year, mutual trade amounted to $105 million.

On the same day, Serdar Berdimuhamedov also met with the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, according to BelTA.

During the meeting, Golovchenko noted that Belarus highly values its friendly relations with Turkmenistan.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Belarus is committed to constructive dialogue and is ready to deepen cooperation in the interests of both countries and their peoples.

The Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Belarus arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS, which took place in the capital of Turkmenistan on May 24, 2024.
