Lebap Region Farmers Harvest About 20 Thousands Tons of Potatoes

Farmers in the Lebap province have planted 1,400 hectares of spring potatoes this year, yielding a total of 19,778 tons of potatoes, official Turkmen media reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, the yield per hectare was approximately 143 centners.

This season, farmers in Charjev district harvested 6,735 tons from 480 hectares, Danev district harvested 4,960 tons from 350 hectares, Sayat district harvested 4,427 tons from 300 hectares, and Khalach district harvested 1,857 tons from 130 hectares.

Markets and stores are offering the harvested potatoes at affordable prices, while the remainder is being stored in specialized cold storage facilities owned by the agricultural association Miwe.

In the eastern region, plans are in place to plant various vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, and melons to achieve a bountiful harvest this year.
