Turkmen entrepreneurs are ready to export environmentally friendly agricultural and food products to the UAE market, announced Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev at the Turkmen-Emirati Business Forum in Ashgabat on Tuesday.
“The task of developing the agricultural sector based on market relations and increasing the share of private ownership is an important direction of state policy. The private sector receives significant support in this area,” Atagulyyev said.
The Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan reported that union members are taking appropriate measures to increase the capacity of the country's agricultural and food industries, as well as new productions launched by union members in recent years. This has allowed for a reduction in the export of milk and dairy products, confectionery, dried meat, sausage and meat products, canned vegetables, fruits, as well as non-alcoholic and syrup drinks.
Atagulyyev also emphasized that the share of the non-state sector in Turkmenistan’s gross domestic product, excluding the fuel and energy complex, exceeded 70%.
Founded in 2008 on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan is one of the largest non-governmental organizations, bringing together about 29,000 private individuals working in various sectors and industries of the national economy.
