President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and co-chair of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, Alexei Overchuk, in Ashgabat on Wednesday.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, Overchuk conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Vladimir Putin and Mikhail Mishustin, affirming Russia's commitment to maintaining the long-standing friendship with Turkmenistan.
In response, Berdimuhamedov highlighted the significance of Overchuk’s visit for fostering ongoing intergovernmental dialogue and expressed hope for productive discussions aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships.
The talks included an exchange of views on key aspects of the bilateral relationship, grounded in trust and equality. Economic cooperation was highlighted as a primary focus, with Russia positioned as one of Turkmenistan's leading trade partners.
The two sides also discussed humanitarian cooperation in the fields of education, science, and healthcare.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of warm wishes and a shared commitment to further strengthening the traditional Turkmen-Russian partnership.
