The Chairman of the State Concern Türkmengaz met with the Minister of Energy of Türkiye, Alparslan Bayraktar, on the sidelines of the Istanbul Energy Forum on Saturday. They explored opportunities to implement joint projects involving Turkish state companies BOTAS and TPAO in the oil and gas fields of Turkmenistan.
Official Turkish media reported that they also discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector during the meeting.
The participants of the meeting paid special attention to alternative routes for transporting Turkmen gas to Europe through Turkish territory.
The discussions took place under the forum’s motto, Common Future, Common Goals, emphasizing the strategic energy partnership between the two nations.
The negotiations took place within the framework of the forum themed Common Future, Common Goals, which highlights the strategic nature of the developing energy partnership between the two countries. Earlier, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbayjan signed an agreement on Tuesday in Istanbul for transporting Turkmen natural gas to Türkiye through Azerbayjan and Georgia.
