The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met on Tuesday in Ashgabat with the Chairman of the Council of Elders of TÜRKSOY, Binali Yıldırım. Yıldırım arrived in Ashgabat to participate in events dedicated to International Neutrality Day, as reported by the news program Watan habarlary.
Binali Yıldırım conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and expressed gratitude for the opportunity for a personal meeting. In turn, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov responded with greetings to the Turkish leader, highlighting the importance of bilateral relations.
During the discussion, both sides emphasized that Turkmen-Turkish relations rest on the principles of equality, friendship, and brotherhood. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan values strengthening ties with Turkic countries and is ready to actively develop cooperation within TÜRKSOY.
The national leader also praised the organization of the Council of Elders of TÜRKSOY meeting held in Budapest, underscoring its contribution to enhancing cultural and humanitarian cooperation among Turkic peoples.
At the end of the meeting, both sides exchanged wishes for success and well-being, expressing confidence in the further development of their fruitful partnership.
