The container train, which departed from Tashkent on December 11, will pass through Turkmenistan, becoming an important part of a new international route, Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC reported on Sunday.
A train consisting of 54 forty-foot containers, each loaded with 28 tons of urea, departed from Uzbekistan’s First Dry Port Terminal and is heading to the port of Paranaguá in Brazil.
The train's route passes through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbayjan, and Georgia. In the Georgian port of Poti, workers will reload the containers onto a ship to continue the journey by sea. The total delivery time takes 60–70 days, including around 20 days on land and up to 45 days by sea.
Uzkimyoimpeks, a company specializing in chemical product exports, and the First Dry Port Terminal, which connects various modes of transport, participated in implementing the project.
In August, Uzbekistan expanded its foreign trade ties by receiving the first commercial shipment of American soybean meal. The delivery followed a route through Türkiye, Georgia, Azerbayjan, and Turkmenistan.
