The Turkmen delegation, headed by the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activities, Rahimberdi Jepbarov, met with the Chairman of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Nobumitsu Hayashi. The parties discussed large-scale projects that will be implemented in the near future in Turkmenistan in the oil and chemical, energy, and other sectors.
During the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Tokyo from February 17 to 19, 2025, they also explored new areas of financial and economic cooperation and the role of Japanese technologies in the development of Turkmenistan's economy, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen delegation also met with Japan's Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, Akihisa Nagashima. They discussed aspects of trade and economic relations, Turkmenistan’s participation in EXPO 2025 in Osaka, and organizing Turkmenistan's National Day at the exhibition.
In a meeting with the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Tetsuo Endo, the parties discussed cooperation in the transport, gas, and chemical industries, as well as strengthening partnership ties between the two countries.
The Turkmen delegation also met with the Chairman of NEXI, Atsuo Kuroda, at the Japan Export-Import Bank (NEXI).
