Turkmen athletes claimed 28 medals at the International Tournament in National Wrestling, Goresh and Alysh Belt Wrestling, held at the Martial Arts Sports Complex of the Olympic Village on April 23–24, as reported by Turkmenistan’s official media on Thursday.
On the first day of the competition, Turkmen wrestlers secured 14 medals in the Goresh category, including eight golds. On the second day, during the Alysh belt wrestling events, Turkmen athletes once again led the standings, earning 14 more medals — 4 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze.
Following the two-day tournament, Uzbekistan ranked second in the team standings, while Kyrgyzstan took third place.
