Turkmenistan and Spain held interdepartmental consultations on Thursday in Madrid focused on the creation of an Intergovernmental Commission and a Business Council to ensure more systematic interaction. The meeting was led by Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Gurbanov, and Spain’s Secretary of State for International Affairs and Global Issues, Diego Martínez Belío, as reported by Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations, including intensifying political dialogue and boosting economic and cultural ties.
Both sides highlighted the importance of high-level contacts for future cooperation and expressed readiness to strengthen interactions between relevant governmental bodies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their mutual intent to deepen collaboration.
On the same day, a meeting was held with the Executive Director of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zorica Urošević, to discuss the prospects of developing tourism and promoting Turkmenistan’s tourism potential.
