Drillers from the Türkmengazburawlaýyş Directorate of the State Concern Turkmengaz have successfully completed work on production-appraisal well No. 03 at the Yylan gas field in Mary velayat, achieving a commercially significant natural gas inflow. The well yields 740,000 cubic meters of gas per day, according to Turkmenistan’s oil and gas industry e-newspaper.
The well was drilled to a depth of 2,875 meters, with gas flowing from a productive layer located between 2,847 and 2,844 meters.
The complex work carried out by the drillers, supported by a state initiative, made it possible to extract high-quality natural gas free of hydrogen sulfide impurities. Experts note that the gas’s pure composition meets international standards, reinforcing confidence in its economic viability.
Previously, a high-capacity well was commissioned at the Galkynysh field, capable of producing up to 2 million cubic meters of gas per day.
