National Leader of Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, proposed the creation of a unified energy, infrastructure, and transport corridor for Islamic countries during a panel session at the “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” on Friday, according to Turkmenistan’s state news agency.

Berdimuhamedov described the initiative as a modern counterpart to the historic Silk Road, aimed at streamlining the movement of goods and services across Eurasia.

National Leader of Turkmen People emphasized that Islamic countries are called to establish a unified energy, transport, and technology belt across Eurasia, linking the continent from the Asia-Pacific region to the Middle East and Europe. This configuration will ensure the shortest routes for the delivery of goods and services. Strategically, such a belt will become a bridge for global cooperation and will undoubtedly have a positive impact on trade and tariff policies, as well as on the overall climate and health of the global economy, emphasized the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

He emphasized that the Islamic world has the potential to become a driving force of global economic development in today’s geopolitical and economic landscape.

The International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” is being held in the capital of Tatarstan from May 13 to 18.

During his working visit to Kazan, Turkmenistan’s National Leader and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
