Turkmen Sericulturists Produce Over 2,100 Tons of Cocoons

Turkmen sericulturists have produced more than 2,100 tons of cocoons, successfully fulfilling their contractual obligations in the field, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atakhallyev announced on Wednesday during an online Cabinet meeting.

According to Turkmenistan’s official state media, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the hardworking cocoon producers on their achievement.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyev also delivered a report on the results of work carried out in the agricultural sector from January to May of this year, as well as on ongoing seasonal agricultural activities in the provinces.

According to the report, the growth rate of production in the agricultural sector reached 113 percent compared to the same period last year.

Tangryguly Atahallyev noted that wheat harvesting has begun in the Ahal, Lebap, and Mary velayats with the participation of respected elders, while preparations are underway to start the harvest in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats on June 11.

During the Cabinet of Ministers meeting, the results of the Turkmenistan’s activities over the first five months of the year were reviewed, and several other matters related to national affairs were discussed.
