Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi in Ashgabat on June 23, 2025, to discuss the current state and future prospects of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.
The two sides also exchanged views on key international issues, with particular emphasis on the situation in the Middle East.
During the talks, the Turkmen side reaffirmed its adherence to the principles of peaceful settlement of international disputes and expressed its readiness to contribute to resolving the current Middle East crisis through dialogue with all interested parties, with the aim of achieving lasting peace, security, and stability in the region.
Araghchi, for his part, reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to continuing constructive dialogue with Turkmenistan based on mutual respect and good neighborliness.
The Iranian side also expressed appreciation to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people for their solidarity and timely humanitarian support.
Both sides emphasized that any crisis should be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic means, in accordance with the UN Charter and international law.
Iran’s foreign minister thanked the brotherly nation of Turkmenistan, its leadership and people, for their consistent support and expressed readiness to further advance constructive political dialogue with Ashgabat.
