Turkmenistan and IPC Explore New Avenues for Parliamentary Cooperation

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a meeting on Thursday with a delegation led by Senator Sitara Ayaz, Secretary General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC), to discuss ways to enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan.

The meeting began with a presentation by the Turkmen side, outlining the country’s commitment to a peaceful foreign policy and its permanent neutrality as the foundation of its international engagement. The presentation also highlighted Turkmenistan’s economic potential, key infrastructure projects, and the Mejlis’ cooperation with foreign parliaments and international parliamentary organizations.

The Pakistani delegation welcomed Turkmenistan’s neutral foreign policy and commended the effective work of its national legislature.

The two sides explored possible formats of collaboration, including joint events, conferences, and forums aimed at fostering inter-parliamentary dialogue, sharing legislative best practices, and addressing contemporary global challenges.

Both parties expressed mutual interest in strengthening ties and advancing practical cooperation in the inter-parliamentary sphere.
