Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation on July 8, 2025, with European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, as reported by Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
During the call, Kallas expressed appreciation to Turkmenistan for facilitating a humanitarian corridor that enabled EU citizens to travel from Iran to their countries of residence.
The two sides discussed the further development of Turkmenistan–EU relations and noted the positive outcomes of the March 2025 meeting in Ashgabat between the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the EU High Representative.
Both officials also emphasized the significance of the first EU–Central Asia Leaders’ Summit, which took place in April 2025 in Samarkand.
In addition, the conversation covered a broad range of topics concerning the expansion of political and diplomatic cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
