European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice President Kyriakos Kokkinos plans to visit Turkmenistan to attend the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will take place in Awaza from August 4 to 8, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium reported.

The statement was made during a meeting between Sapar Palvanov, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, and an EIB delegation led by David Monguzzi, Senior Loan Officer for the Asia region.

During the talks, both sides agreed to use the upcoming international forum as a platform for bilateral meetings and further strengthening of their partnership.

The LLDC3 conference focuses on the unique development challenges faced by the world’s 32 landlocked developing countries, home to over 500 million people. These nations face significant geographic and logistical obstacles that hinder their economic integration with global markets.
