A signing ceremony for the Joint Communiqué was held on July 14 at Turkmenistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City to mark the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Rwanda, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported Tuesday.
Before the signing, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva and Rwanda’s Permanent Representative Martin K. Ngoga discussed prospects for developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Atayeva also reiterated Turkmenistan’s invitation for Rwanda to participate at a high level in the upcoming Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides congratulated the governments and peoples of Turkmenistan and Rwanda on the establishment of diplomatic relations, calling the move an important step toward strengthening cooperation and building a long-term partnership.
