Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Croatia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman held a phone call on July 16 to discuss preparations for a joint Economic Forum with the participation of business representatives from both countries. The forum is scheduled to take place in Ashgabat in October, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry reported.
According to the ministry, the event will be held as part of the Croatian minister’s official visit to Turkmenistan. The fourth meeting of the Turkmen-Croatian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation is also planned to take place alongside the forum.
During the conversation, the ministers discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation and explored opportunities for expanding ties in areas of mutual interest. They also noted the constructive nature of cooperation in the international arena, particularly within the United Nations.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and underscored the importance of joint efforts to maintain regional and global security.
The sides also discussed preparations for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will be held in Turkmenistan in August, as well as the International Forum for Peace and Trust scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat.
