Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks on Wednesday with Executive Vice President of Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd, Cho Seung-il, during which both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and implement joint projects.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized Turkmenistan’s strong commitment to strengthening long-term ties with the Republic of Korea and enhancing collaboration across key sectors of the economy, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The talks highlighted the effective operations of South Korean companies in Turkmenistan’s oil, gas and chemical industries. Particular attention was given to cooperation with Daewoo E&C, including the contract signed for the construction of a mineral fertilizer plant at a chemical facility in Turkmenabat.
The two sides also underscored the important role of Korean companies in the development of the medical cluster project in the newly built city of Arkadag.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction is one of the Republic of Korea’s largest engineering and construction companies. In October 2023, the company opened a branch office in Ashgabat, further solidifying its presence in the Turkmen market.
