President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a resolution granting residency rights to 142 foreign nationals and stateless persons during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday.
The decision, timed to coincide with the 34th anniversary of the country’s independence, reflects Turkmenistan’s ongoing commitment to protecting human rights and freedoms, according to official state media.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov said the individuals granted residency include citizens of seven countries, representing 15 nationalities. The documentation process was carried out in coordination with relevant government agencies.
Meredov noted that since the launch of the residency program, more than 5,000 foreign nationals and stateless individuals have received permission to reside in Turkmenistan.
The Cabinet session also reviewed several other matters of national importance, and appropriate decisions were made.
