The State Concern Turkmengaz will sign a $108 million contract with Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG for the repair of compressors and gas turbines, Deputy Chairman of the concern Berdimyrat Amanov said at the Turkmenistan Economy Days forum in Frankfurt on Thursday, nCa reported.
Amanov emphasized that cooperation with German companies is long-term. One of the key projects was a memorandum signed with Siemens Energy in November 2023, which provides for the modernization of Turkmengaz compressor stations.
Particular attention is being paid to cooperation with the chemical company BASF. From 2020 to 2025, the concern purchased more than 2,000 tons of chemical reagents worth over 22 million euros through a trading partner. Amanov also proposed signing a long-term direct contract with BASF SE to optimize supplies.
Cooperation with Germany in the gas sector includes the procurement of pipes and equipment, the supply of chemical reagents, the purchase of spare parts, and the construction of compressor stations, the deputy chairman added.
Turkmenistan is also developing investment projects for the production of caustic soda, soda ash, chlorine, hydrochloric acid, sodium sulfate, cement, and other products based on local mineral resources.
The international event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, with TMT Consulting Group serving as co-organizer, providing organizational and communication support for the forum.
