Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended deep condolences to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn following severe flooding in the two countries, caused by heavy rains and resulting in numerous deaths, injuries, and property damage, Turkmen official media reported Monday.
The president expressed sincere sympathy and support to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to those affected by the disaster.
Southeast Asia has experienced torrential rains accompanied by strong winds over the past week.
According to the national disaster management agency, 502 people have died in Indonesia, with 508 still reported missing. Thai authorities reported 176 deaths in the southern part of the country.
