Georgia Ready to Support Transit of Turkmen Gas

Georgia has expressed its readiness to support the transit of Turkmen gas through its territory, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday in Ashgabat.

According to the Georgian government’s press service, the leaders discussed current political and economic relations, with particular focus on developing transit and logistics cooperation and the potential to increase cargo shipments from Central Asia via Georgia’s seaports along the Middle Corridor.

The sides confirmed their intention to expand cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Kobakhidze invited Berdimuhamedov for an official visit to Tbilisi.

The previous meeting between the Turkmen president and the Georgian prime minister took place on August 6, 2025, in Avaza, within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).
