Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, arrived in Ashgabat on Thursday to take part in an international forum marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
The leaders were received at the airport by official representatives of Turkmenistan’s state bodies, the country’s official media reported.
The visit aims to further strengthen intergovernmental dialogue and expand cooperation in political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, with particular focus on good-neighborly relations and cross-border interaction.
Pezeshkian’s and Rahmon’s participation in the forum underscores their countries’ commitment to developing constructive partnerships and supporting Turkmenistan’s peaceful foreign policy, based on the principles of neutrality and international understanding, the source said.
