Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon spoke Thursday at the International Forum on Peace and Trust in Ashgabat, marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. The leaders emphasized the country’s key role in ensuring regional stability and trust, according to Turkmen state media.
Rahmon congratulated the Turkmen people on the neutrality anniversary and noted that Turkmenistan’s initiatives contribute to international cooperation and sustainable development.
Pezeshkian highlighted Iran’s consistent support for Turkmenistan’s initiatives to strengthen peace, regional cooperation and multilateral engagement.
Both leaders praised Turkmenistan’s role in promoting peaceful diplomacy, including the establishment of the UN Friends of Neutrality Group, and reaffirmed their readiness to actively participate in joint initiatives to enhance peace, stability and trust in the region.
