Turkmen football club Arkadag completed the group stage of the Asian Football Confederation Cup with a 1-0 victory over Bahrain’s Al-Khaldiya on Wednesday. The win secured second place in the group, advancing the team to the Round of 16.
Under tournament rules, Arkadag will face one of the Western Zone group winners in the next round. The draw to determine the opponent is scheduled for Dec. 30.
Potential opponents include Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia, Oman’s Al-Wasl, and Jordan’s Al-Hussein.
In May, Arkadag won the AFC Challenge League 2024/25 title, defeating Cambodia’s Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng 2-1 in the final.
