Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are moving to the practical implementation of a pilot multimodal transport corridor along the China–Tajikistan–Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan–Iran–Turkey–Europe route.
According to Tajikistan’s Ministry of Transport, the decision to launch the corridor was made following talks between the transport ministers of the two countries.
The project will begin with a trial run, with a convoy of 10 fully loaded trucks traveling from Uzbekistan through Tajikistan toward China.
Permits for cargo transportation along the route will be issued electronically.
The corridor was presented in 2022 in Dushanbe at an international conference on regional logistics development.
