Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held talks with U.S. Ambassador Elizabeth Rood, during which the sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for expanding cooperation in political, economic and humanitarian fields.
The diplomats highlighted the successful operations of leading U.S. corporations in the Turkmen market. Companies including John Deere, General Electric and Boeing are implementing joint projects in the power, transportation and agricultural sectors, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry reported Wednesday.
Particular attention during the talks was paid to the effectiveness of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council and the format of annual political consultations, which serve as a reliable platform for interstate dialogue.
The participants also reviewed new areas of cooperation in the banking and financial sectors and in high technology.
The Turkmen side proposed establishing a permanent Turkmen-U.S. cultural dialogue to promote collaboration in science and the arts.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides confirmed their readiness to further diversify the partnership in line with the interests of both countries and regional development goals.
