Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Qu Dongyu visited the livestock complex of the state-owned enterprise Altyn Halka to review its operations.
Turkmenistan’s efforts to modernize livestock production and develop rural areas were highlighted, Qu Dongyu noted on social media Friday.

The FAO chief said the organization continues to support Turkmenistan’s national priorities in building more sustainable and resilient agri-food systems.
The new Altyn Halka livestock complex, commissioned in December 2025, features a modern digital management system. The facility includes three barns for 500 head of cattle, two barns for 200 calves, a milking hall, a laboratory, a feedlot, and storage facilities for equipment and feed.
