TAPI Pipeline Project in Herat Advances With 91-Kilometer Route Ready
Construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline

Ninety-one kilometers of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline route have been prepared for pipe installation in Herat province, TAPI project representative Bangunj Abdullah Yof said Monday. He spoke during a meeting with Herat Governor Sheikh Mawlawi Islamjar and Turkmenistan Consul General Batyr Yolov.

The provincial administration said infrastructure work on the section is complete and several work camps have been set up to support construction.

Governor Islamjar said coordinated efforts between Afghan and Turkmen teams are advancing one of the region’s key energy projects.

Consul General Yolov said, according to the project schedule, work in the province is expected to be finished by the end of the year. The project is considered strategically important for regional energy cooperation.
