Turkmenistan is advancing financial technologies and modern information and communication systems in the banking sector under its 2026–2028 Digital Economy Development Concept, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov said Friday at a Cabinet meeting.
Geldimyradov reported progress on measures to phase in fintech solutions and digitalize the banking sector, according to official Turkmen media.
He outlined work to modernize the Central Bank, the State Commercial Bank Türkmenistan, and the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank Türkmenbaşy. A related proposal was submitted for consideration by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said the country is effectively implementing modern information and communication systems in banking and approved further upgrades to the banks’ technical infrastructure, instructing that necessary measures be taken.
The Cabinet also reviewed several other state matters and adopted corresponding decisions.
