The volume of goods produced in Turkmenistan in January rose 10% from the same period a year earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov said at a regular government meeting Friday.
According to official media, gross domestic product grew 6.3% over the period. Growth totaled 2% in industry, 6% in construction, 9.3% in transport and communications, 8.2% in trade, 2% in agriculture and 8.5% in services.
Retail trade turnover increased 10.1%, Geldimyradov said. The revenue side of the state budget was fulfilled at 102.2%, while expenditures reached 97.1%.
Wages were paid on time at state institutions financed by the budget and on a self-financing basis, and pensions, state benefits and student stipends were disbursed as scheduled.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the need to continue improving the performance of the economic, financial and banking sectors.
The president instructed the deputy prime minister to continue measures to meet targets set for 2026, maintain stable GDP growth and advance sectoral development.
