SCRMET Registers 2,361 Contracts in January 2026

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) registered 2,361 contracts during 26 trading sessions in January 2026, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerkuly Atagulyyev said at a regular government meeting Friday.

According to the Turkmen official media, the deputy prime minister said trade turnover under the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations rose 11.4% from the same period last year, while output increased 0.1%.

Within the Ministry of Textile Industry, production rose 0.8% year over year. Output included cotton yarn at 100%, cotton fabrics at 102.4% and leather goods at 115.3%. The production plan of the Turkmenhaly State Association was fulfilled at 104.1%.

The meeting also noted that in January 2026, the volume of completed work under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan increased 16.3%. Within the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, production of agricultural and food products rose 6.5%, while industrial output increased 5.1%.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of continuing efforts to develop the country’s trade, textile and private business sectors.

The president instructed the deputy prime minister to continue work to ensure domestic markets and retail outlets are supplied with food and other high-demand goods, and to further improve the operations of the SCRMET.
