A specialized cable for cable car construction, weighing 80 tons, was delivered from France to Uzbekistan through Turkmenistan.

Alexandra Ogneva, project manager in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) at Rhenus Logistics, said the route began at the port of Sète, France. The shipment passed through Istanbul along the Middle Corridor, transited Alat, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenbashi, crossed the steppe regions of Turkmenistan, and arrived in Tashkent.

Projects like this show the Middle Corridor is becoming a reliable logistics backbone for the region, Ogneva said.

The Middle Corridor, also called the International North-South Transport Corridor, links Europe and Asia. It passes through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Georgia and is used for container shipments by rail and sea.
