Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova met with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Feb. 24, 2026, during a visit to Georgia. The talks focused on key areas of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.

According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia, the head of Turkmenistan’s national parliament conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Georgian president from Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as from the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The sides gave particular attention to cooperation within international organizations, primarily the United Nations and its agencies, as well as the practice of mutual support for major international initiatives.

The importance of interparliamentary cooperation and official visits in strengthening bilateral ties and advancing interstate engagement was underscored.

Later the same day, Gulmanova also met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. The discussion emphasized interparliamentary cooperation as a key driver of political dialogue and the development of interstate relations and highlighted the need to further expand interaction and coordination within international organizations.
