Pakistan and Turkmenistan reaffirmed plans to expand cooperation in the energy sector and promote regional connectivity during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari and Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov on Tuesday in Islamabad.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, the sides discussed issues of bilateral interest, with particular focus on the strategic energy sector.
Special emphasis was placed on strengthening regional connectivity between Pakistan and Central Asian countries. The sides underscored the importance of developing sustainable energy infrastructure and advancing cross-border projects, viewing them as key to long-term energy security and regional economic integration.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants confirmed readiness to maintain close coordination in the energy field. The expansion of the partnership is expected to deliver mutual benefits for Pakistan and Turkmenistan and contribute to regional stability and economic growth.
