President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday signed a decree declaring March 20, 2026, a day off for Eid al-Fitr and rescheduling the day off for International Nowruz Day from March 22 to Monday, March 23, state media reported.
The document aims to strengthen national unity and cohesion, promote respect for centuries-old traditions and customs, preserve spiritual heritage, and create favorable conditions for citizens to celebrate Eid al-Fitr and Nowruz, as well as to ensure adequate rest.
The decree was signed in accordance with Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan.
All institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of ownership, are instructed to implement the decree.
