National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a goodwill visit to China, conveyed an invitation from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to visit Turkmenistan at a convenient time.
Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence in the continued development and strengthening of cooperation between Turkmenistan and China on the international stage, noting that consistent efforts by both sides have created all necessary conditions for this. Turkmenistan’s official media reported the remarks Wednesday.
Xi noted that Turkmenistan is one of China’s most reliable partners in Central Asia, highlighting Beijing’s high regard for and support of the country’s policy of permanent neutrality.
The chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also highlighted emerging opportunities for cooperation in transport and logistics through the alignment of Turkmenistan’s strategy to revive the Silk Road with China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
Berdimuhamedov and Xi expressed confidence in the further development of Turkmen-Chinese relations across a wide range of areas for the benefit of both nations and exchanged best wishes.
