Livestock breeders at the Maldar farm in Tagtabazar etrap, part of the Mary region’s livestock and poultry production association, plan to receive 77,999 lambs and kids during the 2026 lambing season from a breeding stock of 84,105 animals, state media reported Wednesday.

The farm’s breeders are currently grazing small livestock on the Pendi plains, which offer favorable conditions for offspring production, according to the report.

Dozens of new groups of healthy pedigree lambs and kids have been formed from young stock, the report said.

As of early May last year, the number of sheep and goats in Turkmenistan reached 6.4 million head.
