A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Nokerguly Atagulyyev, visited Georgia’s Poti port on Tuesday as part of an official visit, reviewing the port’s operational capabilities and infrastructure and holding talks with its management.

The meeting was attended by Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, representatives of Georgian Railway, officials from the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia, and other officials, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia said.

The sides noted the positive dynamics of Turkmen-Georgian relations, emphasizing that transport and logistics is a key area of bilateral cooperation. The participants expressed interest in developing international transport corridors, including the Caspian Sea–Black Sea route, the Lapis Lazuli corridor, and the Green Port project.

They discussed opportunities to increase cargo volumes, further develop multimodal logistics solutions, introduce modern technologies in transit transportation, and enhance coordination between rail and maritime operators. The sides also exchanged views on port terminal management and prospects for joint investment projects.

Later the same day, the Turkmen delegation also visited the port of Anaklia.
