BP Considers Joining Turkmen, Kazakh Gas Export Corridor via Azerbaijan
British company BP (British Petroleum) has expressed readiness to participate in the development of a new gas export route from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan via Azerbaijan, with subsequent connection to the Southern Gas Corridor.
The project is seen as one of the tools to diversify energy supplies to Europe by 2030, Report news agency said Thursday, citing a statement by BP Azerbaijan’s chief geologist, Bagir Ibrahimov.
According to the report, the company intends to use its experience in Azerbaijan to help build synchronized infrastructure that would enable gas transportation across the Caspian Sea and onward to international markets.
BP is one of the world’s largest international oil and gas companies, headquartered in London, engaged in the exploration, production and refining of oil and gas.
