Turkmenistan Eyes Logistics Infrastructure Near Georgian Ports

Turkmenistan has expressed interest in developing warehouse and logistics infrastructure near Georgian ports. The issue was discussed during a meeting between Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev and Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili held Thursday in Ashgabat, according to the Georgian ministry’s press service.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries, with particular attention given to foreign trade and regional initiatives involving Turkmenistan and Georgia.

During the meeting, the parties also expressed readiness to cooperate in the digital transformation of the maritime sector and the implementation of the National Maritime Single Window (NMSW) system.

The sides also discussed cooperation in the tourism sector.

Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the fifth meeting of the Turkmen-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
