Turkmengaz and SOCAR Discuss Priority Areas of Cooperation

Kemal Durdyyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Concern Turkmengaz, and Elshad Nasirov, Vice President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), held talks in Baku on Tuesday on the sidelines of Baku Energy Week 2026, according to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the sides praised the development of energy cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan and discussed a number of issues related to new areas of collaboration in the sector. They also exchanged views on ongoing projects and prospects for future cooperation.

The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue bilateral engagement and capitalize on existing opportunities for cooperation. Following the talks, they underscored the importance of further developing their strategic partnership and expanding practical cooperation.

A Turkmen delegation led by Durdyyev is participating in Baku Energy Week 2026, being held from June 1–3. The forum is one of the region’s largest energy events, focusing on the oil and gas industry, renewable energy, and energy security.
