Turkmenistan's Consul General in Istanbul Ovezgeldi Jumanazarov, met with Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev at the organization's secretariat on July 2, 2026, according to the OTS website.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States.
Particular attention was given to advancing shared goals and expanding cooperation based on the principles of solidarity, mutual respect and a common vision for the Turkic world.
Earlier, on June 29, during a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, confirmed Turkmenistan's participation in the next summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which is scheduled to take place this autumn.
