President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a law establishing the jubilee medal “To a Participant of the Solemn Military Parade Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan” during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, Turkmen state media reported.
During the meeting, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova said that, in accordance with the President’s instructions, a draft law on establishing the medal had been prepared. She noted that the draft was developed based on the recommendations of Hero-Arkadag and submitted for consideration by the Head of state in accordance with Article 82 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that a number of laws had recently been adopted and amendments and additions had been made to many legislative acts as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s legal framework. He emphasized the importance of continuing work to further improve and modernize the legal system.
The Head of state noted that the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s sacred independence would be widely celebrated with grand events and stressed the importance of organizing the celebrations at a high level.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that a summit of heads of state and other internationally significant events are planned to be held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone during the second half of this year. He also stressed the need to ensure high-level preparations for the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, other international events, as well as Independence Day and Neutrality Day celebrations.
